At the risk of starting another theme day. I present my updated automotive timeline.

1986 Dodge Ram D100 Shortbox (2007* to Current)

My first car. *Technically got it when I was 13 years old. Legally in my name at 17. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , but long story short, it was passed on to me after the passing of my grandmother. My dad and I fixed it up and I’ve loved it ever since.

2006 Mazda Mazda6 GT Hatchback (2013 to 2015)

Not a car that I have written much about here. This was my Dad’s car and was given to me as a wedding gift on August 23, 2013, I was 21 years old.

With a V6, 5 speed, a fastback hatch and a stunning interior (really, check them out) it was an awesome car for a 21 year old. Especially free. Thanks Dad.

I learned how to drive stick on it, honed my detailing skills and, perhaps most importantly, learned what understeer was after having a code brown involving a sharp turn and a power pole.

It had some mechanical issues that were just starting and after being rear ended, it was never the same.

2014 Fiesta ST (2015 to Current)

I didn’t even know what a Fiesta ST was when I started looking to replace the Mazda6. I really wanted a Mustang, but money was tight at the time since I was 22 years old and had just bought a home that cost what felt like all the money in the world.

I looked at Fiesta’s on Ford’s site and came across the ST model. I found my ST on auto trader and literally fell in love at first sight. I bought it the next day.

2016 Mazda CX-3 GT (2017 to 2019)

My wife and I started dating at 16. I always drove and she never had a car. We were now 24 years old and needed two cars. We both liked the looks and so we bought it... not much to say here really. It is my wife’s first car.

2018 Kia Forte LX Manual (2018 to 2020)

I needed a car for work. Something that was cheap, good on gas and manual (Jalop life). It ended up being a reliable workhorse and, in the end after two years and 25,000km, I sold it for a profit. Financially and physically safe, this turned out to be a great purchase and served me well.

2018 Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen Comfortline 1.8TSI/4Motion/DSG (2019 to Current)

After our Mazda CX-3 was taken, we decided we wanted something a little larger, more powerful and longer. We had tried the Crossover thing and found that you get less for your dollar that route. We test drove a 2019 Mazda3 GT (too small/too nice), a 2019 Impreza (to shitty) and this. We fell in love with the wagon right away.

Where did you get your force field generator? I’ve been looking for replacements for mine but I haven’t found one I’m really happy with.

his appears to be slightly misaligned, covering not enough of the front and extending too far to the rear. is that something a standard alignment shop can fix, or do you need to go to a specialist?

I think its because he’s parked and set his deflector settings to double rear for protection

You can get them from ARB, but need to call customer service and order over the phone, they don’t advertise it since it’s still tech nically classified by the government.

smart. wonder if that’s an aftermarket feature, or one fo those settings that is DEEP DEEEEEEEEP in the onboard computer, like “how many seconds will the headlights remain on after the car is turned of”
